Fall Update – Kickstarter, Writing News, and More

Wow, have things been crazy busy lately! I didn’t even realize until this week that I never came back here and updated this website to reflect the final outcome of my Kickstarter. (More on that later.) October was nuts, between our very first camping trip as a family over fall break, my Kickstarter, and a handful of other things.

November was even crazier. The ministry my husband and I both work for holds its biggest fundraiser of the year the week before Thanksgiving, and there’s always a lot of work involved on both the front and back ends. It’s always an amazing night full of glorifying the Lord and how He is moving in peoples’ lives, and this year was no exception. On top of that crazy busy stuff, my youngest (who is almost two—I can’t believe she’s that old already!) hit a developmental milestone and went through a sleep regression. Not fun for anybody, her included.

December has been a good month, just crazy busy. (As I’m sure you all can relate!) And last night that major snow storm and Arctic front that have affected a good chunk of the country blew in. The thermometer is currently sitting at 4 degrees—a major improvement to the -9 degrees we woke up to this morning! So grateful to have power, running water, and a warm house.

Anyway…here are a few much-belated updates.

Kickstarter

First, my Kickstarter was a complete success! A huge thanks to all of you who pledged and got copies of Overload before it officially hits the markets in January.

At this point, all pledges have been fulfilled, both digial and physical. Hope y’all enjoy your books.

Writing Updates

To be honest, the past three months have been rough on the writing front. Between school, the ministry my husband and I both work for, my youngest, and a couple of other things, it felt like everything in the world was conspiring against me to keep me from being able to carve out any time to write. LOL.

I know, I know, it sounds a little dramatic. But, really, it was one of those seasons where there really wasn’t any spare time and there wasn’t anything I could do to change that. That was probably the most frustrating aspect.

Still, if there’s anything that motherhood has taught me over the past few years, it’s that there are seasons for things—and each season eventually does come to an end.

I may not have gotten a lot of actual writing done, but the last couple of months have been a season of learning and growing. I read a lot and studied the craft and business of writing. I also learned something new and ran a successful Kickstarter.

Que será, sera, as they say.

Still, happy to report that the rough draft of Finder #5 is nearly finished. Once that happens, I’ll edit and send the second draft off to my beta reader. It’s been a fun story to write. I think you’ll like it.

No real progress to report on anything else yet. I’m gearing up for 2023–have some projects and plans I’m really excited about! (More on that later.)

In the meantime, stay warm!
